Not Feeling A Draft

April 27, 2010

Not surprisingly, no Wyoming players were taken in this last weekend’s NFL draft. The Cowboys as a whole don’t produce a lot of NFL talent and the talent level of the upperclassman has been minimal at best the last few years. Yet, have no fear Poke fans as each NFL team signs a dozen or more undrafted free agents and many of them find their way onto NFL rosters. Of the 5 Cowboys currently on a NFL roster, only one Derrick Martin was drafted (6th round, 2006). This count does not include John Wendling  who is currently injured and a free agent. Wendling was drafted in the 6th round in 2007 and is a special teams tackling machine who will make an NFL roster if healthy. So the rest of the Pokes in the NFL made their way onto a NFL roster as an undrafted free agent through hard work and cowboy toughness. These 2010 players listed below are now wishing to do the same. Good luck boys!
