This Day In Cowboy History

March 24, 2010

On March 24, 1986 the Cowboys were matched up against the Florida Gators in the semifinals of the NIT at the famed Madison Square Garden. Behind Fennis Dembo’s 23 points and Eric Leckner’s 12 rebounds the Pokes knocked off the Gators 67-58 which advanced them to the NIT title game where they would play Ohio State.

Thanks for the info. I’m afraid it makes me sad instead of putting a smile on my face. I long for the pokes to do something in hoops. It would be nice to start beating BYU and then maybe some type of tournament appearance (CBI is not a tournament). thanks again. I look forward to future posts.

Thanks for stopping by Sean! Putting together a good basketball team that can compete would be nice, but I don’t think Schroyer is the guy to do it long term. Thanks again fro dropping by, spread the word about the site.
